Julie Franke Award

In honour of Julie Franke who donated endless time, effort and energy into the cliub as a parent, instructor, committee member, and mother to three children, who died tragically in 1996. This award is given for “Service to the Club” and is voted on by the committee.

Previous Winners: In 2012 the Julie Franke award was presented to Jonathan Warner. This was in recognition of his voluntary work setting up and taking down the equipment on Tuesdays and Thursday nights even though he was not a member of the Club. This year the trophy was presented to Jonathan by Julie’s son David who was a previous level gymnast at the Club.

In 2013 the Julie Franke award was presented to Bethany Warner.

In 2014 the Julie Franke award was presented to Matthew Andrews in recognition of his voluntary work during the year assisting in coaching our levels and team gym classes.  Especially for mentoring the boys to the state championships. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to the club.

In 2015 the Julie Franke award was presented to Neil Leishman in recognition of his voluntary work during the year. Neil in his role as Vice President had to step up and take over the chair since we had no President. Even though his kids left the Gym half way through the year and he was no longer a member of the Club, he continued in his position at the club. He was always involved in setting up and taking down the equipment whenever we had a Gym function. Thank you for your ongoing dedication and contribution to the club, it is greatly appreciated.
